Summary history

During the reign of King Minh Mang in 19th century, there was a statue of a Buddha who knew from nowhere drifting to the sand here. Coastal fishermen have discovered, considering it a good sign, they set up worship. And then, Mr. Avalokiteshvara saved the suffering and appeared to save people passing through the cycle of depression, since then the waves have been quiet, the fishermen have a good business. Since then, the sandy beach where the Buddha's statue was called Bai But, also known as Buddha Land in the middle of the world, is also the place where Linh Ung Pagoda is built today.

About Linh Ung pagoda Da Nang

It is located 10km northeast of Da Nang city, painted by the Thich Thien Nguyen – a venerable monk. The pagoda was started to build on July 4, 2004 and officially opened on July 30, 2010.

Linh Ung pagoda Da Nang is located on a hill, shaped like a turtle facing the sea, leaning like a huge natural forest with many plants and animals, Linh Ung pagoda address is in Bai But belonging Son Tra peninsula, not only is considered a construction which mark development of Vietnamese Buddhism in the 21 st century but also a convergence of the beliefs about the protection from Buddha.

The most suitable time to go

The time from March to September is considered to be the most ideal time to visit this famous destination. At this time, the weather is very nice sunny and no rain, clear blue sky, you can see the beautiful scenery from here.

You should restrict to go from the end of September to the end of December, because it often rains heavily, sometimes lasts all month, foggy and slippery roads.

How to get to Linh Ung pagoda?

From the East Sea park, you go along Truong Sa street to reach Linh Ung Pagoda.

Because the road is quite flat, there are countless transportations for you to move to Son Tra peninsula such as renting a motorbike, car, bus or catching the grab to be comfortable and proactive.

If you rent a motorbike, the price ranges from 8-10$ / day. You only need to deposit your money or ID card.

1.Seeing Budhism’s statue

Along the two sides of Linh Ung pagoda’s grounds are the places of 18 statues, with symbols of particular folk beliefs. The life of each of the Eight Arhat bowls has mysterious features close to the folk.

The most special feature is the 67m high statue of Quan The Am Bodhisattva, lotus diameter of 35m, overlooking the Marble Mountains. If you are allowed to get to the top floor of the statue, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city, mountains and the sea around Da Nang city.

Inside the large main hall, in the center is the Shakyamuni Buddha, on the right is the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, on the left is the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The three statues are all cast in bronze. In addition to the main hall, the temple also has a temple, a lecture hall and a library.

2. Praying for health, love, job...

For some people, they are in way to come to the pagoda because of problems in life such as not passing the final exams to the university, suffering from the broken of their love, unemployment, someone in their family get a disease...
